Securious receives Silver Award for supporting the Armed Forces community

We’re proud to announce that Securious has received the Defence Employer Recognition Scheme (ERS) Silver Award, recognising our ongoing commitment to supporting the Armed Forces community.

The award was presented at a ceremony held at Royal Marines Lympstone on 8 October 2026, where His Majesty’s Lord-Lieutenant of Devon, Mr David Fursdon, recognised twelve organisations from across the region.

The national scheme celebrates employers who go above and beyond to support veterans, reservists, cadet force adult volunteers, and military spouses and partners.

Supporting the Armed Forces community is something that has long been important to Securious. Both our CEO, Pete Woodward, and Operations Director, Darren Grey, have military backgrounds and recognise the valuable skills and experience that former service personnel can bring to the cyber security industry.

As a signatory of the Armed Forces Covenant, we’ve worked with SaluteMyJob, an organisation helping veterans transition into civilian careers, and have welcomed veterans Simon Bryant and Dennis Opoku into our cyber security team.

We’ve also been involved in wider conversations about veteran employment, including speaking at IBM and SaluteMyJob’s Celebrating the UK’s Most Forces Friendly Employers event earlier this year.

Receiving the Silver Award is a welcome recognition of these efforts and our continued commitment to creating opportunities for the Armed Forces community.

Congratulations to all the organisations recognised this year!
