Not only do Securious follow the best practice set out by the NCSC in the UK for Cyber Security, but we can also audit your working practices to the U.S. Government NIST Cybersecurity Framework.

What is the NIST Cybersecurity Framework?

The US Government NIST (National Institute of Standards and Technology) Cyber Security Framework aims to ‘integrate industry standards and best practices to help organizations manage their cybersecurity risks.  In addition to helping organizations manage and reduce risks, it was designed to foster risk and cybersecurity management communications amongst both internal and external organizational stakeholders.’

This framework was originally released in February 2014 and updated to version 1.1 in April 2018.

This framework is designed to be used by organisations large and small, both federal and corporate.

Why might the NIST Cybersecurity Framework be useful in the UK and Europe?

One of the key reasons it is becoming more popular in the UK and the rest of Europe is that since 2017, all U.S. Federal Agencies must have this framework incorporated into any Information Systems under their control. Therefore any organisation that wishes to partner with a federal agency is requested to state how they have aligned to this framework.

A very similar concept in the UK is expecting any organisation that wishes to work with the Ministry of Defence to have obtained the Cyber Essentials/Cyber Essentials Plus certifications.
