Securious Cofounders join high-profile speakers at SWBC conference – Cyber Resilience in the South West region

We had a fantastic day on Tuesday at the South West Business Council’s Autumn Conference, which was focused on Cyber Resilience in the South West region.

Both of our Cofounders, Roz and Pete, were among the event’s high-profile speakers and industry professionals, with Pete participating in the panel discussion and Roz helping compère the conference.

Other speakers and panellists included Baroness Nicky Morgan; Mark Shelford, A&S Police and Crime Commissioner and national lead for Cybercrime; Paul D’Cruz, National Security Officer, Microsoft; Mickey Green, Executive Director of Climate and Place for Somerset Council; Paul Coles, CEO of South West Business Council; Mark Moore, CEO South West Cyber Resilience Centre; James Allman-Talbot, Quorum; Rupert Irons, C3iA; Scott Bartlett, Leonardos; Stacey Lidgate, Cysiam and Stephanie Jaques, National Hydrographic office.

The event took a detailed look at the nature of the current and future cyber threats, with particular reference to the importance of a regionally resilient ecosystem. It was focused on business leaders and those who wish to understand and reduce the risks that they face.

The conference took place at – and provided a sneak preview of – the soon-to-be-launched Firepool Centre for Digital Innovation. This £11million, 2,613 square-metre facility will support collaboration and innovation in the digital economy and will provide a focal point for inward investment in the heart of Taunton.

It was fantastic to be involved in such an important and topical event, and it was great to see so many of the South West’s business leaders in attendance.
