Cyber Essentials and Cyber Essentials Plus are great first steps towards making your systems more secure. The certifications are supported by the National Cyber Security Centre, recommended by the ICO and accredited through IASME.

We've been helping organisations achieve their Cyber Essentials certification since 2015, so we know how to make the process painless. The scheme is UK Government-backed and suitable for organisations of all sizes including businesses, public sector, charities and education.

How does Cyber Essentials work?

  • Cyber Essentials consists of a simple online self-assessment that allows you to demonstrate you are taking the appropriate measures to protect your systems, data and networks.
  • Our qualified assessors will help ensure you understand exactly what is required at every stage in order to be compliant (see below)
  • There is also an enhanced level - Cyber Essentials Plus - which requires external validation - ask us if you would like to know more

Securious is a Cyber Essentials Certification Body

This means we are one of a number of organisations licensed to handle the delivery of Cyber Essentials (basic and PLUS) assessments on behalf of IASME, the governing body.

Each assessor within the Securious team has gone through training and passed the relevant assessments and exams set by IASME to qualify them for this role. We are regularly audited by IASME to ensure we maintain the highest quality standards.

As a Certification Body, we are able to offer clients an Assisted Cyber Essentials package from £595 (+ vat) to make their achievement of Cyber Essentials as quick, painless and efficient as possible:

Assisted Cyber Essentials (from £595 + vat)

  • This is suitable for most clients and means our expert assessors will guide you through the entire Cyber Essentials process and work with you over email and telephone to help you with any of the questions you are unsure of.
  • When you are ready to submit your questionnaire, one of our assessors will review your answers and notify you of any where you are unlikely to be compliant. They will then explain any remediation required to achieve the required standard.
  • Once we are confident you will achieve compliance, you will submit your questionnaire for assessment.
  • If your questionnaire is compliant, you will receive your Cyber Essentials Certification and the relevant Cyber Essentials branding to use on collateral such as your website, email footer, proposals and so on. If you are a UK organisation who certifies their whole organisation and have less than £20m annual turnover, you will also be entitled to up to £25,000 worth of cyber liability insurance (terms apply).
  • Our Assisted Cyber Essentials package means you are likely to achieve your Cyber Essentials Certification much more quickly and with much less frustration.
