PCI DSS V4.0 – transition training was ‘mind blowing’

PCI DSS V4.0

Pete, our CEO, recently did transition training with the PCI Council in preparation for PCI DSS V4.0. It left his mind fairly blown. We all knew that this is the biggest set of changes to PCI DSS since version 3.2.1, which was released in 2018, so it wasn’t surprising to hear that the scope is significant.

However, in terms of what it means for organisations that have to be PCI compliant, the scale of the changes is beyond what even Pete expected. It’s all really good and should have a positive impact on improving organisations’ security, but it means there’s a lot to do.

He spent the session absorbing the information and has since been making sense of it all in regards to what it means for merchants and service providers who need to be compliant.

There’s a lot to take in and it will mean implementing many changes over the course of the next year or two. And it’s likely to cause a bit of a headache for those that don’t familiarise themselves with the new version with plenty of time.

That’s why we’re hosting a free-to-attend webinar next month, for organisations that accept payments by credit card or debit card. It will help remove uncertainty and provide clarity around what it means, and what you will need to do
