PCI V4.0 - overview

The Payment Card Industry Security Standards Council (PCI SSC) has recently released the latest version of their security standard, PCI DSS 4.0, which replaces the previous version, PCI DSS 3.2.1.

You may be wondering what this means for your organisation and how you can ensure that you are compliant with the new standard. Don't worry, we're here to help!

  • Firstly, the new version of PCI DSS places a greater emphasis on risk management and accountability. This means that you will need to develop a comprehensive risk management strategy that aligns with your business objectives. We can help you with this by providing a tailored risk assessment and management plan that meets the requirements of the new standard.
  • Secondly, PCI DSS 4.0 includes new requirements for service providers that are designed to enhance their accountability and responsibility for securing payment card data. We can help you identify any service providers you use that are affected by these new requirements and work with them to ensure that they are in compliance with the new standard.
  • Thirdly, PCI DSS 4.0 places greater emphasis on the importance of authentication and authorisation as a means of securing payment card data. We can help you ensure that your organisation has the necessary controls in place to comply with these updated requirements, including multi-factor authentication and better password management practices.
  • Fourthly, the new version of the standard expands the scope to include emerging payment technologies such as mobile payments and digital wallets. We can help you ensure that your organisation is in compliance with these new requirements by providing a comprehensive assessment of your payment processing systems and technologies.
  • Finally, we understand that PCI compliance can be a complex and daunting task, especially if you are not an expert in this area. That's why we're here to help. Our team of PCI QSAs (Qualified Security Assessors) can guide you through the process of becoming PCI compliant, providing advice and support every step of the way.

In summary, PCI DSS 4.0 represents a significant evolution of the payment card data security standard. However, we want to reassure you that we are here to help and support you through the process of becoming compliant. Our team of experts can provide tailored solutions to meet your organisation's specific needs and ensure that you are fully compliant with the new standard.

If you have any questions or concerns about PCI compliance, please don't hesitate to get in touch with us. We look forward to working with you to ensure the security of your payment card data.
