Securious CEO to speak at IBM event celebrating the UK’s most Forces Friendly employers

Today, Securious is attending IBM and SaluteMyJob’s Celebrating the UK’s Most Forces Friendly Employers event at IBM’s York Road offices in London.

The event brings together employers and organisations working to support the Armed Forces community, with a programme focused on the UK’s Veterans Strategy, Op VALOUR, IBM and SaluteMyJob’s Cyber Pathways programme, and the role businesses can play in creating positive outcomes for veterans and service leavers.

Securious CEO and Co-founder Pete Woodward and Cyber Security Consultant Simon Bryant are speaking as part of the session Supporting delivery of The Veterans Strategy: Celebrating, Contributing & Supporting, alongside Menbahadur Gurung from IBM.

The event includes a celebration of the Top 50 GREAT British Employers of Veterans and their impact on people from across the military community.

Securious’ involvement reflects our ongoing commitment to supporting members of the Armed Forces community and recognising the value that military experience can bring to cyber security.

Through our work with SaluteMyJob, Securious has welcomed veterans into our team and seen first-hand how the skills developed during military service can translate into cyber security careers.

The wider event also includes a keynote address from General Sir James Everard KCB CBE, a discussion on the Military Social Value Index, and a panel exploring how organisations can measure the impact of their work with the Armed Forces community.

The day will close with a workshop facilitated by Quincey Ankrett from e50K Strategic Advisory, focused on how organisations can collaborate to measure and maximise the impact of their support.

Pete Woodward said:

“We’re really pleased to be part of this event and to join the discussion around how employers can better support the Armed Forces community. For Securious, this is about recognising the skills, experience and professionalism veterans can bring to cyber security, and continuing to create meaningful opportunities for those moving into civilian careers.”

Securious is proud to be contributing to today’s event alongside IBM, SaluteMyJob and other organisations committed to supporting the Armed Forces community.
