Securious sponsors University of Exeter Cyber Security Society

We are delighted to announce that Securious is sponsoring the University of Exeter Cyber Security Society for the 2025-2026 academic year.

The student-led society runs one of the most active programmes of cyber security events in the South West, including technical workshops, networking events, and county-wide competitions. They also co-organise HackSouthWest, the region’s biggest hackathon and capture-the-flag event.

We are proud to back local talent, and our existing work with the University makes this partnership a natural fit. Securious already provides PCI DSS services to the University, so this sponsorship is a natural extension of our relationship and our commitment to strengthening cyber security across the region.

The society’s activities engage more than 1,000 students and industry professionals each year, making it a valuable platform for learning, collaboration and career development. Our sponsorship will also help bring compliance topics, including PCI DSS, into the society’s programme of talks and workshops. As the South West’s only PCI QSA company, we see this as a great opportunity to share specialist knowledge with students, raise awareness of compliance in practice, and inspire future careers in this area.

Pete Woodward, CEO and Co-founder of Securious, said:

“We are proud to continue building our relationship with the University of Exeter through this sponsorship. The Cyber Security Society plays an important role in developing the region’s future cyber talent, and it is a privilege to support their programme of events. Compliance, and PCI DSS in particular, is often overlooked by students early in their careers, so we are excited to bring this into the conversation and share real-world insight with the next generation of cyber professionals.”

Maxime Reynaud, president of the University of Exeter Cyber Security Society, said:

“I’m really excited about this collaboration with Securious. Our mission as a society is to empower the next generation of cyber professionals with the skills and confidence to defend themselves and others in an increasingly digital world. With Securious’ support, we can create even more opportunities for students to learn, connect, and prepare for careers in cyber security.”
