Cyber Essentials vs Cyber Essentials Plus
Cyber Essentials is a self-assessed certification, backed by an external review.
Cyber Essentials Plus covers the same controls, but adds a hands-on technical assessment. It provides a higher level of assurance and is often required in supply chains and government contracts.
In order to achieve Cyber Essentials Plus certification, you will first need to achieve Cyber Essentials certification.
Cyber Essentials Services
We offer two routes to Cyber Essentials certification. For most organisations, we recommended the Cyber Essentials Assisted service. Please note that Cyber Essentials is a prerequisite for Cyber Essentials Plus.
Cyber Essentials (non-assisted)

- A self-assessed certification designed to protect against common threats
- Best for organisations with skilled technical or compliance resource, who are confident interpreting and meeting the requirements without additional support

- Includes hands-on support from our experts to guide you through the assessment process
- This is the recommended option for the majority of organisations - especially those without dedicated compliance resource

Cyber Essentials Plus Services

Cyber Essentials Plus Assessment (inc. certification fees)

- Cyber Essentials Plus offers the added reassurance of a hands-on technical audit. It’s ideal for organisations looking to meet higher assurance levels or provide evidence to regulators, customers, or partners.

Cyber Essentials Vulnerability Scanning Service
From £400 (+vat)
- Rather than relying on a point-in-time check ahead of renewal, this service gives your team ongoing insight into vulnerabilities, missing updates and devices that may be falling outside the required remediation window.
Cyber Essentials Plus Pre-Assessment Gap Analysis
From £1,500 (+vat)
- This service follows the same technical process as a formal assessment. This means we carry out the same style of device sampling, vulnerability scanning and control verification, allowing any issues to be identified and addressed in advance.
